Combine a degree in psychology with an inherent talent for design and decor with a dash of Jersey attitude, and shake well. The result is a potent skill set that has the clients of Beth McDonald coming back round after round. For the past 25 years, she has spent most of her time swimming in a sea of fabric, implementing relevant design trends, honing her craft and most importantly, serving her clients. "I’m here to steer you to the best expression of your own design statement and help you articulate that statement eloquently. It’s not about my admittedly superb taste. I help to guide but ultimately, it’s your home and your personality will not be lost in my professional zeal--though I can’t guarantee that I won’t roll my eyes occasionally."
When decorating for her clients, Beth understands every good design relationship is built on trust, taste and experience. An active listener, she truly enjoys figuring out what will make a particular home one’s own embraceable haven. "Initially, clients have some skepticism and need to be assured that I understand them, am listening to them, advocating for them and most importantly, watching their budget."
As a New Englander, Beth is inspired by Savannah’s parallels of classic architecture, coastal living and large gatherings of family and friends. Though getting used to Southern life hasn’t been without its challenges for this dyed-in-the-wool yankee. Her painstaking attention to both the physical and personal details is well-received. "Rooms should reflect your personality; there should be nothing anonymous about them. Arts and artifacts should be gathered over time because this is what gives a room a lasting feel and personal evolution. You know you’re in a well-designed room when you cannot process it with one swoop of the eye."
